Individual Mental Health/Therapy

We all experience many life stressors, at work, with family and friends, and in our relationships.

This can leave us feeling overwhelmed, stressed, anxious, and resentful. Some of us also have specific psychological issues that require clinical intervention.

The Kairos team can help individuals better prioritise their mental health, and make proactive changes to lead a more fulfilling life. Through therapy, our psychologists help our clients develop greater self-awareness, learn new ways to effectively manage thoughts, emotions, and unhelpful behaviours, and restore balance to their lives.

We take a warm, compassionate, and collaborative approach to therapy and provide a safe and relaxed environment for our clients to reach their therapeutic goals. We want our clients to look after their mental health like we look after our physical health.

We offer face-to-face appointments at our inviting practice in the eastern suburbs of Sydney, telehealth online sessions, or a combination of both.

Treatment approaches

There is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to treating mental health. Our psychologists draw from various evidence-based and contemporary treatment modalities and therapies designed to help clients achieve their therapeutic goals, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other mindfulness-based approaches.

Fees

Our goal is to make therapy as affordable and accessible as possible for our clients, given that ongoing therapy, like many things, has become out of reach for many of us.

This does not mean that the quality, or commitment to client care is compromised in any way.

The cost of a 50-minute consultation is $250 for appointments during office hours (between 9 am and 5 pm weekdays) and $260 for appointments before 9 am or after 5 pm weekdays and on weekends.

We are pleased to offer our clients below the current Australian Psychology Society (APS) recommended rate which is $311 for a 50-minute session

Rebates

You will need a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your GP, if you wish to claim back a Medicare rebate on your psychology sessions. Part of the fee for your sessions (up to 10 per calendar year), can be claimed from Medicare ($96.65 for Registered Psychologist).

However, you can also book psychology sessions privately with us without a referral or MHCP. Some private health funds also cover psychology sessions, this will depend on your cover.
