Creating enlightened & supportive leaders at Australian Business Lawyers and Advisors (ABLA)
The Challenge
Kairos were engaged by the ABLA CEO to work with their legal commercial team – a strong and collaborative unit with an enviable track record, and who are consistently voted as a leading labour & employment law firm. Each individual wished to continue their leadership journey and specifically, to gain further insight into their emotional intelligence skills, how they can better support their team, what they naturally do well, and where there are opportunities for growth as business leaders, and as a collective.
The Process
The Kairos Enlightened Leaders framework was utilised, along with the highly robust Emotional Capital Report (ECR) 360 tool to gather performance feedback on each individual from multiple sources – their manager, peers and direct reports. Customised workshops, and in-depth debriefs were conducted with each individual to gain a deeper understanding of their current effectiveness and development opportunities. Coaching took place post assessment to further inform the leadership journey and create longer lasting change and shift habits.
The Outcomes
All of the participants were responsive to the feedback and found it a highly valuable experience.
The assessment, feedback and coaching managed to shift perspectives and encourage new ways of thinking. From understanding the impact of their leadership style within the team and the broader organisation, to understanding which habits were causing them more harm than good. The firm still advocates for, and repeats this process on a cyclical basis.
“Kairos psychologists are engaging, perceptive and encouraging. They are highly valued members of the ABLA family and have made a notable contribution to the welfare and effectiveness of this world class legal team”
