Supercharging vulnerability awareness for Aware Super

The Challenge

Having recently been voted as by Money Magazine’s best super fund, they are industry leaders in responding to Australians at their most vulnerable-including those experiencing financial hardship, isolation, domestic violence and mental health issues. Nevertheless, Aware Super were committed to supercharging their customer engagement skills, and commissioned the Kairos psychology team to work across their workforce to do so.

The Process

Kairos psychologists worked collaboratively with Aware Super key stakeholders to design a bespoke program of work and virtual workshop series. The content was designed to provide them with the skills to engage in more conscious and compassionate dialogue with their members experiencing vulnerability. This included understanding triggers and risk factors, using emotional intelligence and practical strategies such as empathy and assertiveness to support members, exploring the role of people leaders in supporting their teams, and building personal resilience and coping mechanisms.

The Outcomes

Our tailored approach made such an impact that it was described by participants and the client organisation as the best program of its kind that the company has had. Kairos’s highly collaborative approach really helped bring this mission critical work to life. Aware Super has committed to rolling this out to the remainder of the organisation.

“Practical and relevant content delivered by a true expert in the field. High engagement throughout, lots of powerful storytelling, open and honest sharing, and lots of new learning – all delivered virtually. This session was a real stand out!”
